Dear Friends:

My heart, like yours, is breaking for the innocent children affected by the tragedy unfolding in Africa. With thousands upon thousands of children losing their parents and relatives to the dreaded disease of AIDS, we who have so many blessings all around us cannot let them also lose hope. That’s why I am so proud to support the compassionate response of a growing number of Rotary Clubs across Southern California to provide assistance and funds for AIDS orphans in Kenya. Through their “Quarters for Kenya” program, the Rotary clubs – in partnership with many businesses, schools and organizations across the country – are working together to make a difference in the lives of children at risk half a world away. How wonderfully this effort mirrors the Rotary motto: “Service Above Self”.
In recent months, I’ve had the privilege of speaking to a number of these dedicated Rotary clubs about the outstanding work of The Shepherd’s Home Children’s Sanctuaries in Nairobi, sharing about the many children they are rescuing from this crisis with their excellent programs. By providing safety, shelter, education and love, the Shepherd’s Homes are reaching out and rescuing children who have suffered tremendously, but who now can have a bright and hopeful future. Rooted in Christian compassion, and guided by loving and experienced professionals, The Shepherd’s Home Children Sanctuaries are a trustworthy recipient of your financial support. Thank you, in advance, for your generosity.
